Does this sound familiar?
- The glass is cracked or has a spider web from a fall
- Parts of the screen don't respond, or apps open by themselves
- It drains fast, or sits on the charger all night without filling up
- The charging cable is loose or has to be held in place
- The home button stopped working on an older iPad
An iPad worth keeping
iPads tend to stick around for a long time. The one your family bought a few years ago is probably still running fine for video calls with grandparents, school apps and recipes, so a repair is often a good deal better than starting over. Madison came to us with an iPad after first visiting over ten years ago for an iPhone 5c screen, and hers was back in her hands the same day.
What's different about iPad screens
An iPad is held together mostly with adhesive, not screws, so opening one takes patience. The glass runs right to the edge, and the Wi-Fi antennas and small cables are close by. On many regular iPads, we can replace the glass digitizer alone. On Air and Pro models, the glass and display are one piece. Either way, we test the touch across the whole screen before you get it back.
Batteries and ports
If your iPad's battery has faded, you'll notice it dying during a movie or refusing to last through a school day. Sometimes a slow-charging iPad just has a dirty port, or an old cable or a weak charger, so we check the simple stuff before anything else. You can read more on our page about tablet batteries and charging ports.
Gus has excellent customer service and a very impressive service timeline. My iPad was diagnosed and fixed within 3 hours of drop off! Highly recommend. I came here when I needed my iPhone 5c screen repaired over 10 years ago and the inflation here has barely changed. Good prices, good services, quality customer care.
Questions we get a lot
Which iPads do you repair?
Regular iPads, Air, Mini and Pro models. Call with your model number, which is in small print on the back, and we'll tell you about parts and timing.
Why does one iPad cost more to fix than another?
Regular iPads have often had glass that's separate from the display, while Air and Pro models bond them together, so a crack means replacing the whole screen assembly. We'll explain which yours has and what it means for your repair.
Can you fix an iPad my kid dropped?
That's a very common iPad story. Bring it in with the case on, and we'll also talk about what kind of case would have helped.
Should I back up before I bring it in?
If it still turns on, it's worth a quick iCloud backup. Most repairs don't touch your data, but it's good insurance.
