Consoles usually fail in a few familiar ways. The most common one is the HDMI port, because that's where every cord gets yanked, and it's a repair we like to talk about since a lot of people assume the whole console is finished when it isn't. Overheating, grinding disc drives and drifting controllers come next.
We're a small shop, so you'll talk to the person who works on the console. Tell us what it's doing, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing. That includes telling you when you should try a free fix first, such as a manufacturer's repair program.
Console software problems
A console that hangs on the logo, loops through updates or crashes in every game doesn't always need a part. Sometimes it's a failed update or a storage problem, and a reset or a clean system install will sort it out. Bring it in and we'll work out whether it's software or hardware before anything gets replaced. If you can, tell us what happened right before it started, since that's often the best clue we get.
Fast, friendly great service. Pleasant to work with, knowledgeable and efficient.
Questions we get a lot
Which consoles do you repair?
PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, along with handheld gaming PCs like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Legion Go. If you have something older or more unusual, call us and ask. We'd rather have a quick conversation than send you away.
Do I need to bring the controller or the cables?
Bring whatever is giving you trouble. If the console has a picture problem, the HDMI cable you normally use is handy so we can rule it out. If a controller is the problem, bring the controller and the console it pairs with if that's easy.
Will a repair erase my saved games?
Most hardware repairs, such as HDMI ports, disc drives and cleaning, don't touch your storage. A few software fixes do mean a system reset. We'll tell you before we do anything that puts your saves at risk.
My kid broke it. Can it still be fixed?
Almost certainly, and you won't be the first parent to bring one in. Tripped-over cords, a console knocked off the TV stand and controllers thrown in frustration are all regular visitors here.
