Computer repair in Anoka, MN

When the family computer quits, so does the homework, the photo library and the bill paying. We repair MacBooks, Windows laptops and desktops at our shop in downtown Anoka, and for machines that won't travel, we also make house calls.

Most computer problems fit a few patterns. It's either running slowly because of software, failing because of a worn-out part, or damaged because of something that happened: a drop, a spill, or a virus someone clicked by accident. We'll figure out which one you have.

If you've ever been told to ship your computer away and wait for two weeks, you'll like doing this in person. You can talk to the person working on your computer, ask questions, and get it back close to home.

Computer diagnostics

Sometimes you only know that something's wrong. It's slow, it makes a new noise, it restarts without warning, or it won't turn on at all. Tell us what you've noticed and when it started, and we'll test the storage, memory, power and software to find out which part is really at fault. Then you'll get a plain-English explanation of what we found and what we'd do about it, so you can decide whether a repair is worth it.

Fast, friendly great service. Pleasant to work with, knowledgeable and efficient.

Questions we get a lot

Do I need to bring the charger or anything else?

Bring the charger for a laptop, since some problems turn out to be the charger. For a desktop, the tower is usually all we need. Tell us about anything else that's connected and acting up.

Will you be able to see my files?

We stick to what's needed to fix the problem and test it afterward. If you're concerned about anything private on the computer, tell us when you drop it off, and we'll go over how to handle it.

Can you come to my house instead?

Yes. We make house calls in Anoka County and the surrounding area, which is handy for desktops, home networks and printers.

Should I repair my old computer or buy a new one?

It depends on how old it is and what you need it for. An older machine may run well for years with a new solid-state drive. We'll give you our honest opinion, even when that means telling you to replace it.

Bring it by. We'll take a look.
