The big repair chains have head offices and scripts. Rob has a shop on West Main Street and the freedom to do what seems right, because the shop is his and the people at the counter are his neighbors.
You see it in small ways. One customer was racing to pick up her grandson's phone before we closed at 6, and we told her to call if she couldn't make it, because we'd wait. Another had her iPhone 5c screen fixed here over ten years ago and came back when her iPad needed help.
You'll always talk to someone with at least six years in the repair business. You'll get a straight answer about whether a repair is worth doing, even when the honest answer is that it isn't.

HDMI ports get yanked, bumped and pulled on every time the console moves. Plenty of people assume the whole console is done for. Usually one small part failed, and we can replace it at our bench right here in Anoka, so you don't have to mail anything away.
